Through this letter we would like to introduce XI:XI (eleven:eleven) Focus Sports Club to you.
We are a sports club with a difference. At XI:XI Focus our main objective is to improve functional movement. Our program is particularly for people with a physical disability or learning disability, or both. Using strength and conditioning training whilst having fun, we are trying to get people active as well as improving skills that help with day to day tasks.
The club is highly focused on inclusion, community and well-being and offers a holistic approach to exercise rather than a prescribed training program. Each class includes a team workout which teaches members to work as a team and to communicate with each other.
The club started its first class in the middle of November 2015 and we have since achieved the StreetGames as well as Bolton Mark Inclusion accreditation and the club was a finalist in the category “Club of the Year” at the Bolton Active Sports Awards 2016. We initially obtained pilot funding through Sportivate, followed by £9840 funding through the Big Lottery Fund Awards For All scheme in order to grow the club over the next twelve months.
Currently we run a class on Thursday evenings (8.30pm – 9.15pm) and we have recently started a Monday evening class (8.15pm – 9pm) that we are hoping to expand as we have space for about 10 more people to join this class – first five classes are free for new members.
We hope you might be able to help us promote our club as we believe in the positive impact we have on people’s lives and we would like to get many more people involved.
Included are a leaflet (a and b) and a case study from GreaterSport for you to have a look through, but please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this letter and the additional information.
We look forward to hearing from you.
